The Marlie Center at Fountain Park (Rock Hill)
The Marlie Center at Fountain Park, formerly known as The Arts Center at Fountain Park, is a planned performing arts venue for downtown Rock Hill. Named in honor of local dancer Marlie Dru Sullivan, the center will serve as a regional cultural hub, featuring a 500-plus-seat theater designed to host dance performances, theatrical productions, concerts and community arts events.
The Jim Shore Museum (York County)
Opening in late 2026, the Jim Shore Museum will celebrate the life and work of renowned folk artist Jim Shore. The 22,000-square-foot attraction will showcase Shore's artistic journey, from his earliest works to collaborations with major brands including Disney. Visitors will experience rotating exhibitions and immersive multimedia installations highlighting his distinctive style and creative legacy.
On Air (Charleston)
Opened in spring 2026, On Air is a two-level nightlife venue on King Street offering two distinct experiences under one roof for locals and visitors seeking something new in Charleston. The ground floor, On Air Live, is a Nashville-inspired honky-tonk featuring live country and rock music in a warm, rustic setting, while the upstairs On Air Studio delivers a rooftop-and-loft vibe with house music, world-class sound, resident DJs and an upscale listening lounge inspired by NYC loft culture.
Palma Day Club (Charleston)
Debuted in May 2026, Palma Day Club introduces a new daytime entertainment experience to Charleston. The seasonal event series combines international DJ performances, elevated poolside service and a vibrant social atmosphere. Guests can enjoy curated food and beverage offerings, VIP cabanas and special vendor activations throughout the summer.
The PicklePort (Myrtle Beach)
Opening in late summer 2026, the PicklePort is a dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball facility featuring climate-controlled indoor courts, covered outdoor courts, instruction areas, a pro shop, snack bar and gathering spaces for players and spectators.
The Mockingbird (Greenville)
The Mockingbird is an intimate 180-seat listening room featuring cabaret-style seating, elevated acoustics, and sweeping views of the Reedy River, creating a one-of-a-kind setting for live performances.
Coach Music Factory (Greenville)
Greenville’s historic carriage factory has been reimagined as Coach Music Factory, a high-energy, standing-room-only venue featuring multiple levels, immersive sound and lighting and flexible event space.
The Treehouse Activity Center at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (Kiawah Island)
The Treehouse Activity Center at Kiawah Island Golf Resort recently debuted as a dynamic, all-in-one destination for family-friendly entertainment, blending indoor recreation with the island’s natural surroundings. Located within Night Heron Park, the space features bowling lanes, golf simulators, an arcade, art studio and an interactive nature center, along with casual dining.
Charleston International Airport Adds New Nonstop Service to Atlantic City
Breeze Airways launched the first-ever nonstop service between Charleston International Airport and Atlantic City in May 2026. Operating twice weekly, the new route expands access between the Lowcountry and the Northeast, providing travelers with a convenient new option for reaching South Carolina.
Myrtle Beach International Airport Completes Concourse A Expansion
Myrtle Beach International Airport recently completed its Concourse A expansion, enhancing the passenger experience and supporting continued growth across the Grand Strand. The project adds gate capacity and improves airport operations as the region continues to welcome increasing numbers of visitors.

Surfside Beach Celebrates 10 Years of Autism-Friendly Certification
Surfside Beach recently marked the 10th anniversary of becoming the first city in South Carolina—and one of the first in the nation—to earn Autism-Friendly Certification. Recognized during a January 13 Town Council meeting, the milestone highlights a decade of efforts to create a more inclusive destination for residents and visitors.
Pine Island State Park
Pine Island State Park, located just outside of Columbia, officially opened in March 2026, offering 27 acres of lakefront park, 38 boat slips and more than 4,000 feet of frontage along Lake Murray.
Catawba Bend Preserve Expands Outdoor Recreation Opportunities
York County’s 1,900-acre Catawba Bend Preserve continues its transformation into a premier nature-based recreation destination along the Catawba River. New additions planned for 2026 include hiking, mountain biking and cross-country trails, disc golf, picnic areas, fishing access, bird-watching opportunities, public restrooms and expanded parking.
Congaree National Park Completes Elevated Boardwalk Project
Congaree National Park has completed a major project to fully elevate its popular 2.6-mile boardwalk loop. The improvements address recurring flooding issues and include more durable materials designed to withstand the park’s wet environment.
The Meadows at Black River State Park Opens
Opened in spring 2026, South Carolina’s fiftieth state park is The Meadows at Black River State Park. The new park is the state’s first-ever riverine network of public parks and paddle launches along 70 miles of the Black River. As additional properties open, Black River State Park– at 9,000 acres and counting – will eventually be among the largest in the state park system.
Charles Towne Landing Unveils New Bobcat Habitat
Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site debuted a newly constructed bobcat habitat in April 2026, bringing the popular exhibit back to the site’s Animal Forest. Visitors can observe resident bobcats Jazz, Shishka and Hobbs while learning more about one of South Carolina’s most elusive native species.
America 250 Celebrations
As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, South Carolina continues to play a leading role in the commemoration with events, exhibits and experiences highlighting the state's pivotal role in the American Revolution.
SC250 Charleston
Charleston is preparing for one of its most significant commemorations as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration this summer. The destination is planning a multi-day series of events highlighting the Lowcountry's pivotal role in the American Revolution.
- Revolutionary Skies: A 250th Commemoration Drone Show (June 27): A free public drone show over Charleston Harbor depicting Charleston's Revolutionary War story during Carolina Day commemorations.
- The Revolutionary City (June 28–July 5): A citywide living-history experience featuring coordinated programming at historic sites, museums, cultural institutions, and community spaces throughout Charleston.
- Independence Day Waterfront Celebration (July 4): A family-friendly celebration at Waterfront Park featuring live entertainment, activities, and one of the Southeast's largest fireworks displays.
- New America 250 Tour Experience: Gray Line Charleston debuted a new America 250 tour in April 2026, offering visitors an immersive look at Charleston's role in the American Revolution. The guided experience explores the city's strategic importance in the Southern colonies and the stories of the patriots who helped shape the nation's founding.
Revolutionary War Monument Dedication (Bamberg County)
As part of America's 250th Anniversary, Bamberg County will dedicate a new Revolutionary War monument on June 27. The monument honors documented Revolutionary War participants from the Bamberg County region and includes recognition of African American and Native American individuals whose contributions have often been underrepresented in historical records. The ceremony will feature the unveiling of an original sculpture by acclaimed brick artist Brad Spencer.
Camden Celebrates America's 250th Birthday & 10th Annual Children's Fourth of July Parade
On July 4, Kershaw County's beloved Children's Fourth of July Parade returns for its 10th year with a special America 250 theme. The community parade encourages children to decorate bicycles, scooters and wagons and participate in a patriotic procession to Camden City Arena, where the celebration continues with live music, refreshments and family-friendly activities.
America 250 Events in Chester County
Throughout the summer, Chester County will highlight the region’s role in the American Revolution by educating, engaging, and inspiring residents and visitors.
- The Patriot (June 27 and August 1): The Agribusiness Center will host a special screening of The Patriot, which was filmed in part throughout Chester County. The evening will begin with remarks from a historian highlighting the county's significant role during the Revolutionary War before the film is shown on a 17-by-10-foot outdoor LED screen.
- Chester County: Women of the Revolution (July 1): This afternoon tea and historical program at the Catholic Presbyterian Church explores the often-overlooked contributions of women during the American Revolution.
- Patriot Monument Unveiling & Declaration Signing (August 2): Chester County will unveil a memorial honoring local residents who died during the Revolutionary War. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sign a replica of the Declaration of Independence, reflecting on the sacrifices that helped shape the nation.
Laurens Freedom Fest (Laurens)
Downtown Laurens will come alive on July 3 for Laurens Freedom Fest, an evening celebration featuring live music, local food vendors, festive drink specials, late-night shopping, and family-friendly entertainment. Headlined by The Brook & The Bluff, with additional performances by The Tounds and DJ Amber, the event will showcase the community's vibrant downtown atmosphere before culminating in the city's annual fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration (Capital City/Lake Murray Country)
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday at Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration on July 4, 2026, featuring two synchronized fireworks shows over the lake, multiple boat and land-based viewing options, live radio and online broadcasts, and a beloved South Carolina tradition recognized as one of the South’s top Fourth of July events.

Conway Riverfest (June 27, 2026): Kicking off the weekend before Independence Day, this popular festival features many live entertainment acts, an artisan market, a raft race, activities and games for all ages and food. This weekend of fun is located in downtown Conway along the banks of the majestic Waccamaw River.
Charleston Caribbean Jerk Chicken Festival (July 19, 2026): A family-friendly event featuring Caribbean food, culture and music in a family-friendly outdoor setting.
BBQ & Boats with Rodney Scott (June 30, 2026): BBQ & Boats with Rodney Scott returns June 30 from 7–8:30 p.m. aboard the Daniel Island Ferry for its first on-the-water event, featuring all-you-can-eat barbecue, an open bar, and a chance to meet James Beard Award-winning pitmaster Rodney Scott.
Sweetgrass Festival (July 25, 2026): The annual Sweetgrass Festival is designed to promote and bring attention to the contributions of the Gullah Geechee people’s history, culture, traditions and their sweetgrass basket art.
Upstate South Carolina
SC Festival of Discovery (July 9-11, 2026): Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, the SC Festival of Discovery is an award-winning event held each July in Uptown Greenwood, featuring culture, food, arts, crafts and a "Blues Cruise" that takes revelers to numerous venues.
South Carolina Peach Festival (July 17-19, 2026): Celebrating 50 years in 2026, the South Carolina Peach Festival brings together locals and visitors alike for a week filled with family fun, live entertainment, thrilling rides, and mouthwatering food.
South Carolina Apple Festival (Sept. 11-12, 2026): Oconee County is the largest apple-producing region in South Carolina — so it’s the perfect spot for the South Carolina Apple Festival. Each year, this two-day event celebrates the beginning of the apple harvest season, with live music, entertainment and local craft and food vendors.
Anderson’s Hot Air Affair (Sept. 4-6, 2026): The Cancer Association of Anderson’s signature event brings 40+ hot air balloons to the town’s Balloon Launch Field for a weekend of family fun with balloon activities, vendors and a Kids Zone.
Midlands South Carolina
Floatchella Lake Murray (July 18, 2026): Floatchella returns to Lake Murray for a day of on-the-water entertainment, live music, local vendors and community celebration. The annual event brings together hundreds of boaters and visitors for one of the Midlands' most distinctive summer traditions.
York Summerfest (Aug. 22, 2026): Celebrating 50 years in 2026, York Summerfest takes place in the picturesque Historic District of Downtown York, blending live music, a variety of activities, and family-friendly entertainment.

Greenville’s Culinary Scene Takes Center Stage
Greenville continues to earn national recognition as a premier food destination. The city is featured prominently in Bravo’s Top Chef: Carolinas, giving viewers a taste of Greenville’s acclaimed restaurants, local flavors, and culinary talent. Visitors can experience special Top Chef-inspired offerings, including three-course “TV Dinner” menus, a stay at the Hyatt Regency Greenville where judges were hosted, and curated food tours highlighting featured restaurants and local favorites. The Savers of Flavor Premieres on SCETV
