The South Carolina Barbecue Trail Map
The state’s new SC Barbecue Trail currently includes more than 220 South Carolina restaurants, which are featured on the attractive SC BBQ Trail Map. The trail and map are complemented by an interactive barbecue-themed website,SCBBQTrail.com, which features a printable version of the map, professional videos and more. Free printed copies of the map are also available at all nine South Carolina Welcome Centers.
The industry is also using the hashtag #SCBBQ to help consumers share their experiences about this Southern delight. Consumers who use Instagram are invited to search #SCBBQ to have a look at what others are posting about South Carolina barbecue and/or to post images of their barbecue experiences.
In addition to strategic advertising, interactive social media and robust public relations efforts, a “Barbecue Information Kit” was distributed to barbecue restaurants in South Carolina to help them become engaged in the campaign and encourage their customers to get involved as well.
