Filming in South Carolina

1. The ABC miniseries "Separate But Equal" sets up on Broad Street in Charleston in 1989 to film a scene with Sidney Poitier (playing Thurgood Marshall) entering the federal courthouse to begin the process that led to the 1954 landmark decision of the US Supreme Court known as Brown vs. Board of Education.
2. Cast and crew of "North & South" shoot a scene in front of First Baptist Church on Meeting Street in Charleston in 1984.
3. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams share a dance on King Street in Charleston from a scene in "The Notebook," which was shot in 2003.
4. Mel Gibson stars as Benjamin Martin in "The Patriot," which was shot in Chester and York Counties in 1999.
5. Twentieth Century Fox recreated a Fourth of July parade in downtown Abbeville for this scene from "Sleeping with the Enemy" in 1990.
6. Danny Glover, Angela Bassett and director Giancarlo Esposito take a break on the set of "Gospel Hill," filmed in Chester in 2007.
